The Hurdy Gurdy Center is a non-profit organization focused on the historical and modern hurdy gurdy. In collaboration with internationally recognized experts, we aim to promote the instrument and raise awareness of its image.

  RESEARCH
As one of our main projects, we are working on various historical and contemporary research programs. Thanks to our cooperation efforts, we have access to several historical instruments both in private and institutional collections. These opportunities provide us not only with the possibility to measure and examine instruments but also to build historically accurate copies.

  DEVELOPMENT
Furthermore, we would like to use our discoveries and expertise to catch onto the work of the previous 50 years to develop new sonorities and possibilities for the instrument.

  EDUCATION
In addition to our work as researchers and developers, we are also focussing on sharing our knowledge. Through our education programs, we would not only like to provide a valid source of information, but also host workshops, masterclasses, lectures, and symposia.
